Life Moves Pretty Fast

If you don't stop and take a look once in a while, you could miss it.

  • Day 22:  My Hero (aside from Jesus) from the Bible
Today, I’ve got David on my mind.  He was unlike any hero of the Bible because we really get to know his life story.  We see him aligned with God, and we see him failing, deep in sin.
But the classic story of David, the youngest son of Jesse, shedding Kind Saul’s heavy armor and weapons, using that which he was trained to use:  a sling, and a stone he chose from a brook nearby the battle.  I mean, you’ve got to be walking with the Lord to be on a battlefield, and have no armor on, and walk over to a brook to find five stones.  Even though he had his guard down in a worldly sense, David knew God was on his side.
And with God on our side, honestly, who can be against us and win?

P.S.  Thundarr just for fun.

  • Day 22:  The Worst Thing
Being betrayed is the worst thing ever… and it’s happened more than once, so shame on me, I guess.
Instance one:  My bff in high school became the town tart*, and I just didn’t want to go along with the sophomoric ways of her fickle heart.
Instance two:  My bf of five years might as well have shot me in the face because everything got wrecked - granted, I turned an incredibly blind eye to the reality that was  building inside the fantasy I thought I was living out.  Lesson learned:  don’t move in with your boyfriend, no matter what television teaches you.
Instance three:  My bff from high school that was supposed to stay best friends with me forever left everything she grew up to believe to, all of a sudden, become super involved in political idiocy.
Instance four:  My family members that grew up understanding the Lord’s power, love, and grace turned away from Him.

*by town tart, I mean she wanted us to go hang out with folks that were doing illegal drugs in public places.  Creeps.

    • not-so-newlywed
    • mother
    • homeowner
    • elementary school teacher
    • more patient

    Otherwise, I’m me.
