Day 21:  How I Deal with the Secular World

a.k.a. the world at large

I live in it, but my citizenship rests in Heaven.  I know Whose I am, and I know where I’m really from.  The only way I can possibly have peace in my heart is to allow my heart to rest in Jesus.  Jesus wasn’t asleep on the boat during the storm on the sea of Galilee because he was simply tired; He was at rest because His heart dwelt in Heaven!  Being at peace in His heart, and at one with the Father gave Jesus the power to speak peace to the physical world, calming even the waves of the sea!

So I suppose I deal with the world by loving others where they are, and knowing that this isn’t my true home.  That being said, I live to see God’s glory revealed here, while I’m here.  People who are thirsty need refreshment, and I’ve got it.  Jesus is the living water - and when I’m alive in Him, I don’t thirst for the things of this world.
