Day 8: Favorite Person in the Bible (besides JC)
This is tough for me. Quickly running down a mental list:
Boaz, Isaac, Deborah, Solomon, Rahab, Paul, John (sons of thunder represent’n), Esther…*sigh*
Today, I want to talk about Joseph, the eleventh son of Jacob. He was in jail for two years, forgotten by the cupbearer to Pharaoh, but he stayed faithful. He was seduced by Potiphar’s wife - to the point where she grabbed his clothes and ripped them off, and he STILL chose to flee from her! He didn’t give up on God and His mighty will, His perfect plan, the one he dreamed of when he was a young and prideful young man, and came into great power in order to save his family who had given up on him in so many ways.
Joseph is my example, a model for one following the Lord’s perfect will. I want to keep my eyes fixed on Jesus, running for the goal that is set before me. I know God is my Father, and will provide for me and for the ones I love. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Day 7: Christian Author
C.S. Lewis is amazing, hands down… but Francine Rivers’ book Redeeming Love caught my heart at just the right time in my life.
Plus it’s set during the California gold rush… Something about a man who works hard on his farmstead and loves his woman no matter what.

Day 6: Favorite Old Testament Verse
It’s really the entire book of Ruth, but I love this verse…
Ruth 3:18
Then Naomi said, “Wait, my daughter, until you find out what happens. For the man will not rest until the matter is settled today.”
Who knew barley could be so romantic?

Day 5: Bible Study
I do attend Bible studies. On Tuesday nights, we have our women’s study, which is going through the “Captivating” book and workbook. I love it! My small group ROCKS!
I also attend a focus group for the 20s/30s age people. We’re having an open forum discussion regarding our church’s mission statement, and what it means to be “on mission” or “missional” rather than stuck in our comfort zones. Exciting stuff!
Also, I study my Bible on my own time because that is how God talks to me. You should try it. It works!

I saw this and just started laughing.
JB said, “I wish I could just pour my rainbow into your head.”
